On our planet, there are plenty of incredible, awe-inspiring, and fascinating places to see.

It can be difficult to determine which of the 195 countries to visit, each with its own unique culture and attractions.

Plitvice lakes, croatia

The Plitvice Lakes are located on Croatia’s Adriatic Sea shore, close to the boundary between Zadar and Zagreb, the country’s capital.

These lakes are made up of 16 bodies of water connected by a series of tumbling waterfalls and interesting bridges, all of which are flanked by age-old emerald forests teeming with wildlife such as birds, wolves, bears, and more!

Enjoy hikes on a range of trails, both natural and man-made, in one of the country’s top tourism attractions, and explore the vast space between the lowest altitude lakes of 280 meters and the highest 1,000 meters above them. You may even travel between them by ferry!

Bamboo Grove, Japan

The Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is one of the best places to visit in Japan, which already has a plethora of attractions.

This grove, located on the outskirts of Kyoto, is densely packed with many bamboo trees, all of which have grown to incredible heights that must be seen to be believed.

Not only is it a beautiful sight to behold, but the Japanese Ministry of Environment has rated it one of the top 100 Soundscapes in the country.

This means you may listen to the sad rustle of leaves and the creaking of wood while gazing at the unending mass of bamboo.

Quebec City, Canada

Quebec is a terrific urban retreat in the winter, with European-style architecture, cobblestoned lanes, and plenty of snow. You’ll also get a taste of their Christmas markets if you visit in December, where lovely wooden kiosks sell anything from maple delicacies to handcrafted wooden toys.

You can enjoy the greatest perspective of Château Frontenac by sliding down a gigantic toboggan from November to March. The toboggan, which was erected in 1884, allows riders to go down the hill at 70 kilometers per hour.

If you visit in December, be sure to check out the spectacular Christmas display in the Chateau Frontenac courtyard, which includes a gigantic Christmas tree and a plethora of lights.

The city also has two notable Christmas markets: the Market at the Old Port and the German Christmas Market. The Old Port market is open year-round and offers all kinds of artisan foods and souvenirs, but adds a wide variety of Christmas treats during December.

The German Christmas Market on the Place de l’Hotel-de-Ville contains everything you could want for Christmas, including gingerbread and Weihnachtsstollen (traditional Christmas sweet bread).

On a snowy day, climb to the top of the Observatoire de la Capitale for an incredible view of the city and its powdery white roofline.
